The Amarone Riserva from the Valpolicella Ferragù winery is an intense and complex red wine. It is the most prestigious label of the estate, the diamond tip of the production, which is made only in 300 bottles, intended for a loyal audience of passionate and demanding connoisseurs. It is born from a rigorous selection of the best grapes of Corvina, Corvinone, Croatina, Oseleta, and Rondinella, which are vinified with artisanal care. It is a bottle of particular value, to be tasted on a special evening, to accompany a braised dish with red wine or a slow-cooked beef.
The Amarone Riserva Ferragù wine comes from the classic blending of the indigenous red grape varieties of the Valpolicella area. The grapes come from a one-hectare plot, cultivated with vines about 20 years old, located in the municipality of Cellore, a fraction of Illasi, at an altitude of 220 meters above sea level, with an east-west exposure. The soils are medium-textured, of a calcareous-clay matrix with the presence of gravel. At the end of the harvest, the most beautiful and healthy bunches are dried for about 3 months, so that they dehydrate and concentrate the sugars and aromatic substances. The most beautiful and healthy bunches are dried for about 3 months, so that they dehydrate and concentrate the sugars and aromatic substances. The fermentation takes place at controlled temperature using selected yeasts. The wine matures for 6 years in French and American oak barriques and completes the aging with 12 months in the bottle.
The red Amarone Riserva from the Val d’Illasi Ferragù winery is an exclusive bottle for connoisseurs, reserved for those who love the seductive richness of dried grapes, the dense, warm, and satisfying sip. To the eye, it presents a dark garnet red color that is almost impenetrable. The olfactory profile is very complex, with aromas of ripe black cherry, red-fleshed plum, wild blackberry, cherry in spirits, blackcurrant jam and blueberries, hints of underbrush, humus, tobacco, nutmeg, cinnamon, and soft oriental spices. On the palate, it is very structured, with rich and broad aromas, velvety tannins, and ripe fruit. The finish is harmonious and very persistent, with a return of pleasant spicy sensations.
