'Finca Sanguiijuela' Bodega Schatz 2012

The wine “Finca Sanguiijuela” is born in one of the most original and dynamic wineries in Andalusia. Founded by a German vigneron, Bodega Schatz has had the great merit of restoring splendor to an area of ancient traditions. A careful zoning work and the use of organic and biodynamic farming practices have allowed for the production of wines of excellent quality. The vineyards of Tempranillo, Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon are cultivated in the Sierra Sanguijuela area, near Ronda. The soils of silt, sand, and clay and the beautiful sunny and ventilated exposures, thanks to the sea breezes, create an ideal habitat for the red grape varieties, which arrive at harvest with perfectly ripe grapes. Fermentation takes place with skin macerations. Before bottling, the wine matures for 12 months on the lees with bâtonnage in French oak barriques from Tronçais, Allier, and American oak.

The red “Finca Sanguiijuela” Bodega Schatz is a great terroir wine, made with a perfect blend, capable of highlighting the unique personality of the lands of Andalusia. In appearance, it presents a ruby red color with bright reflections. On the nose, it offers a palette of aromas reminiscent of the scents of wild herbs of the Mediterranean scrub, medicinal herbs, delicate floral nuances, fragrant and intense aromas of small red fruits, hints of roasting, freshly ground coffee beans, and bitter cocoa. The sip is harmonious, with fine tannins, rich and ripe fruit,
