The Tuderi is a red wine made from Cannonau with a dense, soft personality rich in fruit. Alessandro Dettori, a winemaker in Sennori in the province of Sassari, is one of the most respected figures in the realm of traditional winemaking, without compromises. His approach, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, is to allow fruit and earth to express themselves freely, with the aim of minimal intervention. “I do not follow the market, I produce wines that I like, wines from my territory, wines from Sennori. They are what they are and not what you want them to be.” A phrase that speaks louder than many words. Among old vines of Cannonau, Monica, Pascale, and Vermentino, the result is that of multifaceted nectars, hard to forget, but not for everyone.
The red Tuderi is a Romangia IGT, made from pure Cannonau grapes from the "younger" vines, which are nonetheless an average of 45 years old. As always with Alessandro's wines, the utmost respect for vine and territory is observed, thus a strictly manual harvest is followed by destemming and maceration for a maximum duration of 10 days in cement containers.maximum duration of 10 days in cement containers. Fermentation occurs only through the intervention of indigenous yeasts, while aging takes place in cement and in bottle. No clarification or filtration, nor addition of sulfur at bottling. Thus, a very intense and fruity juice is born, with notable concentration, featuring exuberant and pleasantly sweet notes of very ripe fruit.
The wine Tuderi presents itself in the glass with a deep ruby red color, tending towards garnet. The fruit is explosive and lively right from the first sniff, telling the story of Sardinia in a faithful and engaging way: myrtle, helichrysum, ripe plum, humus, sour cherries, and carob. A solar nectar, in the strictest sense of the term. On the palate, it reveals its rich and defined substance, endowed with significant extract and a slight residual sweetness. Meaty, full-bodied, and incredibly long, it pairs wonderfully with roasted lamb or well-aged cheeses. A personal and memorable tasting experience.
